This role sits within a global payroll function responsible for ensuring employees are paid accurately, on time, and in full compliance with local regulations. You will play a key part in maintaining payroll integrity, improving operational processes, and enhancing the overall employee experience. The position combines hands-on payroll execution with analytical review, system oversight, and cross-functional collaboration. You will work closely with internal teams and external vendors to manage payroll inputs, resolve discrepancies, and support end-to-end payroll cycles. In a fast-paced, high-growth environment, your work will directly contribute to operational excellence and employee trust. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate payroll processing, supporting payroll operations, and driving improvements across systems and processes within a complex, multi-entity environment.
- Process payroll changes and updates using payroll systems such as CloudPay
- Perform pre- and post-payroll audits to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Analyze payroll variances, including earnings and deductions, across pay cycles
- Manage equity reporting and review payroll system integrations for accuracy
- Investigate and resolve employee payroll inquiries in a timely manner
- Partner with external vendors to manage payroll data exchanges and files
- Support year-end payroll activities, including reporting, calendars, and communications
- Contribute to process improvements and develop standard operating procedures
You bring strong payroll expertise, particularly within the Canadian payroll landscape, along with the ability to work independently in a remote, fast-moving environment.
- 3+ years of experience in Canadian payroll processing
- Strong understanding of payroll compliance, reporting, and audit processes
- Advanced Excel skills with ability to manage and analyze large datasets
- Experience with payroll systems such as Workday and/or CloudPay (preferred)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision
- High attention to detail and strong analytical thinking skills
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight payroll deadlines
- Annual base salary range: USD $74,672.50 – $100,400
