Position Summary

Zachry Construction is seeking a Class B Dump Truck Driver to support heavy civil construction operations. This position is responsible for safely operating dump trucks to transport materials such as dirt, gravel, asphalt, concrete, and other construction materials to and from job sites. The Class B Dump Truck Driver plays a key role in maintaining efficient material flow while adhering to all safety, traffic, and company regulations.

What You'll Do

  • Safely operate Class B dump trucks on public roadways and construction sites
  • Transport materials such as soil, aggregate, asphalt, concrete, and debris as directed
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns
  • Load and unload materials while ensuring proper weight distribution and securement
  • Follow project-specific haul routes, schedules, and instructions from supervisors
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, foremen, and equipment operators
  • Maintain accurate daily logs and required documentation
  • Follow all company, state, and federal safety rules, policies, and guidelines
  • Assist with general labor duties as needed to support project operations
  • Work varying schedules, including early mornings, nights, or weekends as required

What We're Looking For

  • Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required
  • Previous dump truck driving experience in heavy civil or construction environments preferred
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices
  • Ability to operate vehicles safely in congested traffic and active construction zones
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and task-oriented
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Physical ability to perform job duties, including climbing in and out of the truck and walking on uneven terrain
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Must pass required drug screening, physical, and background checks
