Job Description
The Trust Administration Specialist within our LITCO business will provide oversight of trust operations, including transaction approvals, cash and fee reconciliations, and third-party processing to ensure accurate settlement and compliance. This role will support Trust Officers and leadership with client inquiries, trust closings, audits, tax preparation, and operational improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and approve trust transactions, ensuring timely and accurate daily settlement in accordance with internal controls and regulatory requirements
- Support cash flow reconciliation processes, identifying discrepancies, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing resolutions to maintain financial integrity
- Own fee reconciliation and collection activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with client agreements
- Monitor third-party vendor performance, including timeliness and compliance of transaction processing; address and resolve issues as needed
- Serve as an operational partner to Trust Officers, advising on client matters, resolving complex inquiries, and ensuring a high standard of client service
- Direct trust closing processes, including final account reconciliation, audit review of transactions and fees, and ensuring proper documentation and compliance
- Coordinate and support tax reporting and audit activities, ensuring readiness, accuracy, and adherence to regulatory and organizational standards
- Identify and support process improvement initiatives, enhancing efficiency, strengthening controls, and mitigating operational risk
- Partner with LITCO leadership to support strategic and cross-functional initiatives
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 3+ years of trust, banking, life insurance, law, and/or financial services experience
- Strong attention to detail and understanding of basic accounting principles, including record keeping, collections, and reconciliation
- Strong understanding of fiduciary responsibilities, regulatory requirements, and risk controls within a trust or financial services environment
- Ability to analyze information and make recommendations with minimal guidance
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of trust operations and administration, including transaction processing, trust accounting, and lifecycle management (preferred)
Location
- Hybrid, with ability to commute to Sioux Falls, SD or Minneapolis, MN office
- Prolonged periods of sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer

The base pay range for this role is $52,000 - $72,500. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
