Redefine Healthcare is seeking a dedicated, full-time Surgical Coordinator Assistant to support our expanding team of healthcare professionals at our Hackensack, Bayonne, Clifton, Edgewater, Jersey City, North Arlington, Orange Offices. The Surgical Coordinator Assistant will work closely with the Surgical Coordinator and clinical teams to support surgical scheduling, patient communication, and administrative coordination. Job Duties (include but are not limited to):
Assist with coordinating surgical procedures between physicians, patients, and surgical facilities
Support the maintenance and accuracy of surgical schedules
Communicate pre-operative instructions, preparation details, and post-operative requirements to patients under guidance of the Surgical Coordinator
Assist with insurance verification, eligibility checks, and benefit confirmation for surgical services
Serve as a support point of contact for patients, surgeons, and operating facilities
Track surgical authorizations and assist the authorization team as needed
Maintain accurate patient and surgical documentation within the electronic health record (EHR)
Help resolve scheduling issues or delays and escalate concerns appropriately
Perform ad hoc projects and additional duties as assigned by management
Minimum Education or Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required
1–2 years of experience in medical scheduling, care coordination, or administrative healthcare support preferred
Basic knowledge of medical terminology and surgical workflows preferred
Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and scheduling systems
