The Safety Sitter is responsible for providing continuous, direct visual observation of assigned patients to ensure their safety at all times. This role focuses on proactively identifying and preventing behaviors that may result in harm to the patient or others. The Safety Sitter plays a critical role in maintaining a secure and supportive environment while adhering to all patient care policies and procedures. Provide uninterrupted, one-on-one visual monitoring of assigned patient. Observe patient behavior and promptly report any changes or safety concerns to clinical staff. Intervene appropriately, within scope, to prevent patient harm or unsafe actions. Maintain a calm, professional presence to support patient well-being. Accurately document observations, incidents, and activities in a timely manner. Follow all organizational policies, safety protocols, and patient confidentiality standards. Collaborate with nurses and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated patient care.
