About the Role:

The Chaise Tech plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of transportation equipment. This position involves the thorough inspection, maintenance, and repair of chaise units, which are essential components used for transporting goods. The mechanic will diagnose mechanical issues, perform routine servicing, and implement corrective measures to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment. Collaboration with logistics and operations teams is essential to schedule maintenance without disrupting workflow. Ultimately, the role contributes directly to operational excellence by maintaining high standards of equipment performance and safety compliance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a mechanic or technician in transportation or warehousing equipment maintenance.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools used in mechanical repair.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in diesel mechanics or heavy equipment repair.
  • Experience specifically with chaise or trailer maintenance and repair.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and compliance regulations in transportation and warehousing.
  • Basic welding and fabrication skills.
  • Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed inspections and diagnostics on chaise units to identify mechanical faults or wear.
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as lubrication, adjustments, and part replacements to ensure optimal functioning.
  • Repair or replace defective components including brakes, axles, wheels, and suspension systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory to support operational tracking.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and transportation teams to schedule maintenance activities that minimize operational disruptions.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Stay updated on new technologies and repair techniques relevant to chaise mechanics.

Skills:

The required mechanical skills are applied daily to diagnose and repair complex issues in chaise units, ensuring they meet safety and performance standards. Strong problem-solving abilities enable the mechanic to efficiently identify root causes and implement effective solutions. Communication skills are essential for coordinating with team members and documenting maintenance activities clearly. Preferred skills such as welding and familiarity with computerized systems enhance the mechanic’s ability to perform advanced repairs and maintain accurate records. Continuous learning and adaptability allow the mechanic to stay current with evolving technologies and industry best practices, contributing to overall operational success.
