Pennwest Specialized Contracting Inc is seeking a highly motivated and reliable Skilled General Laborer & Carpenter Helper to be a vital member of our field operations team. In this role, you will provide the essential support needed to build large-scale, critical industrial utility projects.

What You Will Be Doing

You will be the engine that keeps our job sites moving, providing critical support to our lead carpenters and concrete crews:

• Site Operations: Execute demanding physical tasks efficiently and safely across diverse industrial construction sites.
• Trade Support: Support lead carpenters and ironworkers by proactively anticipating tool and material needs during complex builds.
• Formwork & Rebar: Actively assist in the assembly of heavy concrete forms and the precise placement of rebar for structural builds.
• Site Maintenance: Maintain a highly clean and organized work area to ensure site safety and smooth operational flow.
• Project Deadlines: Contribute to on-time project completion by working overtime and off-hours as rigorous deadlines require.
• Environmental Endurance: Navigate challenging outdoor work environments, maintaining a strong work ethic across all types of extreme summer and winter weather conditions.
• Safety First: Adhere strictly to all OSHA and company safety protocols, and consistently wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications) Required Qualifications

• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of proven experience in manual labor or construction-related roles.
• Mindset & Reliability: Proven reliability with a strong, documented track record of consistent attendance and punctuality. You must have strong listening skills and the ability to follow complex verbal instructions accurately.
• Physical Capabilities: The physical ability to perform heavy lifting and continuous manual labor safely in extreme summer and winter weather.
• Logistics: Proficiency in English and possession of highly reliable transportation to the job site.

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry Experience: Previous hands-on experience specifically acting as a helper in a carpentry or civil utilities environment is a massive plus!
• Safety Certifications: Possession of an active OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety certification.
• Work Ethic: The ability to demonstrate a proactive, "can-do" attitude in a fast-paced, high-performance work setting.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
