ABOUT INSIGHT SCHOOLS OF CALIFORNIA AND THE HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER POSITIONS:
Insight Schools of California (a network of three public charter schools) delivers online/virtual home based-instruction to students in grades 9-12 in California. Insight Schools of California serves at-risk students. We use K12, inc. as our curriculum provider for the basis of instruction and teachers provide live instruction via the Engageli platform. While our schools do offer some scheduling flexibility, students are still required to maintain daily attendance, attend instructional sessions, and complete their coursework each day.
All teachers provide students additional help, individualized attention, and ongoing communication with learning coaches, and all attend professional development meetings (virtual and in person). Insight staff and teachers contribute to a positive school culture by engaging in meaningful team collaboration and focusing on the needs of all students. Teachers also meet with students during testing and at in-person events.
HOURS AND SALARY INFORMATION:
Full time teachers work Monday-Friday from 8:30am-4:00pm. You are not allowed to have another job during these contracted hours.
Full Time High School Teachers: Annual salary based on holding a Bachelors or Masters Degree and up to 3 years of experience in California

REQUIRED CREDENTIAL/CERTIFICATION:

• Permanent California Residence (within 1 of the 22 CA counties we hire in)
• Valid/current California Single Subject teaching credential in Mathematics OR Multiple Subject Teaching Credential
• California English Learner Authorization- Issued by CTC

Job Title: High School Teacher - Intervention Specialist, Math
Reports To: Academic Administrator and Head of School
FLSA Status: Exempt
Overview:
The Insight Intervention Specialist is responsible for working with the content team as well as the academic administrative team to provide targeted instruction in order to increase student achievement. This person must have both content and instructional expertise to review assessment data and create instructional groups. This is a temporary grant-funded position and will not lead to permanency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Using school assessment data as a guide, and in partnership with the content teachers and academic leadership team to provide targeted intervention sessions that leads to increased academic achievement of students and identified student groups (focusing on areas identified for CSI)
• Creates and delivers lessons based on focus areas for students in Math or English
• Aligns instruction with standards, and student data
• Updates students invited to intervention sessions based on current data
• Follows up with students and families regarding sessions assigned and attendance
• Invites students to support sessions during open periods and provides direct instruction in small groups
• Collects growth data in the area of Math or English that is standards based
• Conduct and research new intervention practices/strategies
• Shares data with the content and academic leadership team
• Other duties as required
Requirements/Experience:
• Shared view of the school's mission and vision
• Experience as a High School English or Math teacher
• Proficient in MS Excel, MSWord, and Outlook
• Flexible schedule – ability to travel
Certificates and Licenses:
Valid/current California Single Subject teaching credential in Mathematics OR Multiple Subject Teaching Credential

This position is a virtual position working from a home office. Must have ability to travel throughout the school year within and between assigned geographic areas to support students, attend regularly scheduled meetings, proctor state exams and participate in school activities and orientations.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
