To perform patient treatment planning and dose calculations

QUALIFICATIONS:

Educational and/or Professional Qualifications:

1. Graduate of a Joint Review committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCert) accredited Dosimetry program and/or
2. Certification in Medical Dosimetry by Medical Dosimetry Certification Board (MDCB)

Previous Experience:

1. 2 years of experience preferred.

2. Previous experience as a Radiation therapist preferred.

Other Special Training/Skills:

1. Must be able to visually distinguish different anatomical structures, tissue densities, and isodose lines on a CRT screen.
2. Must have the mental capacity to accurately manipulate equations related to the delivery of radiation therapy treatments and radiation safety.
3. Must be physically able to handle patients, moving machinery, tools, and other equipment that may be used repeatedly throughout the work day.
4. Must be able to handle stressful situations.
5. Must have good interpersonal skills.
6. Must have expertise in the technical aspects of radiation therapy treatments and must be able to effectively and clearly communicate these aspects orally and in writing to the Radiation Oncologist and the Radiation Therapy Technologists.
7. Must have a working knowledge of radiation safety.

Licensure, Certification, Registration, etc.:

1. Must be Board certified as a Medical Dosimetrist by the American Association of Medical Dosimetrists.
