About This Position

Dishwasher/Utility Worker

Reports to: Kitchen Supervisor

Classification: Non-exempt

Reviewed: April 30, 2025

Position Summary

The Utility Worker performs a number of kitchen activities including pot washing, dish washing, general cleaning duties and storing food and non-food supplies.

Essential Job Duties

  • Wash dishes, utensils, and pots.
  • Operate dish washing equipment.
  • Distribute and store clean pots, dishes and utensils.
  • Clean and sanitize production equipment, work surfaces and kitchen according to cleaning schedules and procedures.
  • Empty trash containers as required.
  • Maintain assigned work station in a safe and sanitary condition.
  • Maintain acceptable standards of personal hygiene and complies with department dress code.
  • Follow safety regulations; report injuries or any unsafe conditions and work practices to the supervisor.
  • May assist with basic kitchen preparations and/or serving.

    • Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) is preferred.
  • Must meet all healthcare requirements, including Tuberculosis skin test
  • Must be in positive standing with all healthcare agencies, including the Employment Clearance Registry and Adult Maltreatment Registry

    This position is very active and requires frequent standing/walking and repetitive motions, frequent bending/stooping, reaching, lifting/handling, pushing/pulling and occasional carrying. and the employee must frequently lift or move objects weight up to 50 pounds and the frequency of treatments may vary.
