The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

Resident achieves objectives and competencies for each rotation in accordance with ASHP standards for residents in pharmacy practice. The resident actively participates in patient care and ensures that medications are provided in a safe and rational manner. Any and all requirements of CMMC employment will be met.

Qualification

  • Completion of course at an accredited School of Pharmacy, with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD Registration in New Jersey as a pharmacist within 3 months of start date.
  • Hospital pharmacy experience desirable.
  • Familiarity with all phases of hospital pharmacy.
  • Working knowledge of health care matters.
  • Understanding of role of pharmacy department within the hospital, its interrelationships with other departments and functions.

Scheduling Requirements (non-exempt positions):

  • Full-Time
  • Day

Essential Functions:

  • Assumes role of drug information provider to all members of the health care team specific to patient populations and age groups.
  • Correctly documents all controlled substance dispensing. Reports and resolves discrepancies
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, workshops, inservice meetings, etc.
  • Meets requirements of ASHP residency program.
  • Notifies nurse of any changes/modifications of medications prescribed.
  • Oversees preparing of parental admixtures, dispensing, and compounding of medications.
  • Participates in medication error reporting programs Evaluates and reports Adverse Drug Reactions.
  • Provides educational rotation for pharmacy students as required.
  • Provides one (1) clinical presentation per year (e.g. journal article review, drug review, etc).
  • Signs cart fill sheet, completes unverified medication check and signs the sheet that they have been done.
