DDC/BAS Project Supervisor

Description

Position Purpose

The Special Project Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing small to medium-scale projects exclusively for a pre-identified Central Account, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction and the successful completion of each project. This role will blend expertise in control systems, project management, and customer relations, with a focus on leading projects from initiation through to completion. The Special Project Supervisor will coordinate the efforts of control technicians, electricians, and subcontractors, ensuring that all work is executed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. While this role does not involve direct team supervision, the supervisor will manage all aspects of the special projects, including planning, scheduling, material procurement, and communication with key customers and internal stakeholders.

Pay Range: $49.00 - $57.00 per hour, plus potential profit share.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties or tasks assigned as required.   • Ensure the quality, consistency, and timely completion of all building intelligence construction and service activities, while meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
  • Oversee and supervise small, specialized projects from initiation to completion.
  • Assist with optimizing schedules and coordinating activities to ensure projects are completed in alignment with customer requirements and project goals.
  • Resolve customer concerns and escalate issues as necessary, ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate and monitor subcontractors' installation and in-house electrician's work.
  • Regularly visit in progress jobs to inspect the quality of work performed and to provide training and technical support to field personnel.
  • Provide technical support to department personnel as required.
  • Consistently ensure OSHA compliance within areas of responsibility.
  • Enforce safety procedures, conduct safety inspections, and promote a culture of safety within the team.
  • Coordinate with other departments to maximize joint workforce utilization and minimize unallocated time.
  • Assure that no work is performed outside contractual obligations without compensation.
  • Remain current on industry and company trends, regulations, laws, building codes, and technology.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • 2-year technical degree and 5 years temperature controls installation experience preferred, or 7 years temperature controls installation experience.
  • Expertise in programming and troubleshooting KMC, Distech, Tridium/Honeywell, and similar control systems.
  • Ability to legally drive a company vehicle.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while taking responsibility and ownership.
  • Strong customer service and analytical skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication, along with strong computer proficiency.
  • Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop control technicians.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities that drive improvements and optimize control system performance.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Mechanically oriented with a complete understanding of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems, control systems, building automation, electrical systems, energy management, engineering, installation, management, and construction procedures.
  • Ability to locate, layout, and mount control devices.
  • Able to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and control system drawings.
  • Ability to travel within area of responsibility. Occasional overnight travel required.
  • Knowledge of LONG's operations and infrastructure, as it pertains to construction operations and its stakeholders.

Physical Requirements

  • This work may involve standing for extended periods, climbing ladders or scaffolds, and working in tight spaces.
  • This position may require lifting to 50 lbs. from floor to countertop and countertop to floor.
  • This position may require climbing ladders and the ability to function at heights.
