Job Summary
The Director of Food & Beverage might also be evaluated or grow into a VP of Hospitality. This position goes between multiple companies and includes short and medium term stays, food products, off premise catering and venues. This a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of catering operations, food and service pricing, labor, staff hospitality, and special events within our organization. This position requires a dynamic individual with a strong background in food service management and exceptional customer service skills.

The Director will work with owners and lead teams to ensure the highest quality of food preparation, staff hospitality, and presentation while maintaining excellent client relationships and managing catering events from conception to execution. He or she will also collaborate with teams for facilities, pricing, training, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Support brand alignment and profitability with management.
  • Collaborate in the development and implementation of catering menus that align with historical brand flavor profile and food trends
  • Supervise the catering team, providing guidance and support to ensure high standards of food handling and preparation while fostering and upbeat positive workforce
  • Oversee all aspects of event planning, including sales, logistics, staffing, and on-site management during events.
  • Conduct regular training sessions for staff on food safety, culinary techniques, and customer service excellence.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored catering solutions that exceed expectations.
  • Manage inventory levels, ordering supplies, and ensuring compliance with health regulations.
  • Monitor catering operations to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and quality.
  • Conduct interviews and participate in the hiring process for new staff members.
  • Oversee Food and Beverage Products through online store
  • Oversee multiple event venues
  • Review and strategize hospitality at unique micro-hotel / Airbnb properties
  • Work with ownership on hospitality development

Requirements

  • Proven experience in food management and food service management roles.
  • Strong supervisory skills with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively.
  • Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary practices.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on hospitality.
  • Experience in staff training and development to foster a positive work environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed for events.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Positive communication skills for interacting with clients, staff, and vendors.
