Job Description
- Assisting the occupational therapist in the evaluation and assessment of students' occupational therapy needs
- Implementing intervention plans and goals, as prescribed by the occupational therapist
- Providing one-on-one or small group therapy sessions to students as needed
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to support the integration of therapy goals into the student's daily routine and academic activities
- Providing guidance and support to students in areas such as fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-regulation, and other areas as needed
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation of student progress and intervention plans
- Participating in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on best practices in occupational therapy
- Managing a detailed log of service provided and services missed due to student absence, school closure, or therapist absence
- Completing intervention session notes and contributing to progress reports in a timely manner according to school policy
- Assist in the implementation of evaluation/IEP/504 recommendations, as needed
- Maintaining a compliant practice and documentation
- Performing other duties as assigned or requested by the appropriate administrator
- Must possess an occupational therapy assistant degree from an ACOTE-accredited program and have a valid license to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, issued by the California Board of Occupational Therapy
- Experience working with individuals with a range of disabilities (learning disabilities, emotional and behavioral disorders, autism, etc.) (1 year minimum)

- Perform a variety of specialized and responsible tasks: maintain records, establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents, other school personnel, meet schedule and compliance deadlines.
- Possession of a valid drivers license: willingness to provide own transportation in conduct of work assignments as you will be required to travel from site to site to work with students and faculty at all sites
- Experience working with elementary-age children in school-based practice in California.
