About This Position

Precision Science is seeking a Lab Manager for our north Phoenix facility located at 1517 W. Knudsen Drive Phoenix, AZ 85027. Position Summary: The Quality Control (QC) Lab Manager oversees laboratory operations, ensuring testing accuracy, regulatory compliance and personnel management to meet quality standards. They develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), validate methods, handle deviations, and approve results for raw materials and finished products.

Key Duties: Laboratory Operations Management Oversee daily QC laboratory activities including validation, raw material, in-process, finished product, and stability testing. Ensure all testing is performed according to approved methods, SOPs, and specifications. Manage laboratory scheduling, workflow prioritization, and resource allocation. Maintain laboratory equipment qualification, calibration, and preventive maintenance. Execute testing as required.

Compliance Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards. Support internal and external audits, inspections, and regulatory submissions. Review and approve laboratory documentation, investigations, deviations, and OOS/OOT data. Leadership & Development Lead, mentor, and develop QC Chemists. Establish performance goals, conduct evaluations, and provide coaching. Maintain laboratory KPIs and implement strategies to improve performance. Address performance gaps by addressing gaps timely and adhering to the disciplinary process. Reward and recognize Lab staff to promote retention and job satisfaction. Communicate with the Lab staff to ensure they receive accurate, relevant and timely information.

Quality Systems & Continuous Improvement Drive continuous improvement initiatives within laboratory operations. Identify process inefficiencies and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA). Participate in risk assessments and change control processes.

Budget & Resource Management Develop and manage the QC laboratory budget. Oversee procurement of laboratory supplies and equipment. Participate in pricing activities for new and existing contracts.

Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in chemistry Ten (10) years of High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) experience. A minimum of Five (5) years of pharmaceutical experience; animal Health experience a plus A minimum of two (2) years of leadership experience managing people. Animal Health experience a plus

Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Analytical Chemistry techniques (HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV/Vis, KF, LC/MS etc.) cGMPs and USP/NF Guidelines and Compendial Requirements Proficient in all MS Office products Familiarity with laboratory data systems. Strong leadership and team-building abilities. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
