Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000 / year

About Redeemer Counseling:
Redeemer Counseling (RCS) is a professional Christian counseling and training center based in midtown Manhattan. We connect the Gospel and counseling best practices for individuals and churches. Our staff of more than 40 professionally trained counselors and trainers journey with people to deeper healing and transformation.
About the Position
Working closely with the Executive Director, the Development Director is responsible for leading and managing the development functions with an emphasis on major gifts and foundation giving. This person will lead and develop moves management strategy, primarily working with current and potential mega/major investors and partners. The Development Director will provide thought leadership to major and mega fund development, institutional foundation grants, and partnership strategy on key initiatives. The Director will carry a select caseload of major investors, foundations and partners, where this person would be the primary face of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop and organize all aspects of the organization's fundraising programs including major gifts, foundation giving and sustained giving.
- Create fundraising goals and strategies for each program for the fiscal year.
- Lead cross-functional team to coordinate efforts for all fundraising.
- Serve on the Leadership Team to gauge fundraising needs and brainstorm ideas for fundraising programs.
- Supervise part-time Development Associate and contractors as needed.
Major Gifts and Foundation Giving
- Research and identify potential investors/donors/partners to implement strategies to foster positive relationships.
- Establish and maintain communications with investors/donors/partners.
- Provides moves management strategy and execution for current and prospective investors/donors/partners.
- Organize fundraising events.
- Create reports post-event to analyze data and determine the marketing effectiveness for the fundraising program.
- Plan major gift programs.
- Gives input particularly in relation to the Director of Counseling caseload and major fund development efforts. Meets with key investors/donors/partners on the Director of Counseling caseload as needed, including churches, individuals, organizations, foundations, and alliances.
- Travel as needed with Leadership Team members for major fund development support.
- Commits to ongoing personal and corporate development in the areas of philanthropy, partnerships, missions and spiritual formation, organizational leadership, management, and strategy.
- Contact new, existing and lapsed investors/donors/partners to build, renew, and maintain relationships.
Minimum and Unique Skills
- Proven ability to develop and execute moves management strategy for investors and partners.
- Ability to develop and communicate strategy in collaboration with others, including strategy that will be executed by the Director of Counseling.
- Ability to prioritize requests and assignments, while working under tight deadlines, internal and external pressures.
- Ability to respectfully offer input and suggestions to senior leaders, including on points of disagreement.

- Proficient in CRM database, various organizational systems and platforms, and pertinent Microsoft and Apple applications.
- Ability to travel as required.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Philanthropic Studies or related subject (or equivalent experience)
- Deep commitment to mental health services.
- Identify with the Christian faith, attend a church, and align to the statement of faith for RCS.
- 10 years of increasingly successful experience working in the nonprofit sector.
- 5 years of experience in direct development-related activities.
- 5 years of experience managing and leading teams to achievement of fundraising results.
- Experience managing and improving development operations, ranging from CRM management to budget monitoring to gift processing.
- Experience in forming and working with advisory boards and external boards.
- Proven ability as a project manager, ability to efficiently deliver results in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated history of operating at Director level and serving in a Leadership Team.
