Job Description
Please be advised this position is on-site in Harrisburg, PAAt this time this role will require US Citizens or Green Card Holders as there will not be any sponsorship availableThe Program Director for Engineering & Math Sciences is a student-centered STEM educator who will guide the growth of our Engineering and Math Sciences program, with a strong emphasis on student wellbeing, career readiness, and workforce development. Our students are motivated, often come with uneven math preparation and non-linear paths, and need a leader who believes in their potential and meets them where they are without lowering expectations.Provide academic leadership for Engineering and Math Sciences, including scheduling, curriculum planning, and coordination with advising and student support. Teach undergraduate engineering and/or applied math courses using inclusive, active-learning approaches that support students with varied preparation. Develop and deliver new hands-on engineering electives, with a strong preference for: Analog and digital circuits Microcontrollers and Arduino-based applications Lab-rich, project-based courses that connect theory to practical electronic design Embed career readiness and workforce development into the curriculum through projects, professional skills, and collaboration with Career Services and industry partners. Advise and mentor students, helping them navigate non-linear pathways, build confidence in math and engineering, and translate experiences into transferable skills for internships and entry-level roles. Use data (retention, DFW rates, student feedback) to inform continuous improvement of courses, pathways, and supports. Graduate degree in Engineering (strong preference for Electrical or Electronic Engineering or closely related field). Experience teaching undergraduate engineering/ STEM students, ideally in settings with diverse and mixed academic preparation. Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following: Curriculum and course development Lab and project-based learning with real hardware/tools Internships, co-ops, capstones, or other workforce-aligned experiences Commitment to inclusion, and access in STEM; experience supporting first-generation, women, students of color, and adult learners is highly valued. Strong communication, organization, and collaborative skills; ability to work closely with faculty, staff, and student support offices. Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Engineering Experience in graduate program development and implementation. Background or experience in data science, data analytics, or computational methods, with interest in supporting students who pursue data-focused pathways. Project management experience or training, especially as applied to engineering projects, curriculum initiatives, or industry partnerships.
