Job Summary
The Finish (Punch) Superintendent is responsible for managing and executing all phases of interior and exterior punch work on multifamily construction projects. This role ensures that units and common areas are completed to company quality standards, subcontractor scope requirements, and Owner expectations prior to turnover. The Punch Superintendent will work closely with the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, and project leadership team to maintain schedule integrity, drive accountability with trade partners, and ensure all punchrelated documentation is properly managed in Procore. This position may support up to two active projects simultaneously and will mobilize approximately one month prior to the start of punch, remaining through final project completion.
Responsibilities
Pre-Owner Punch (Internal Punch Process)
- Conduct detailed internal unit punch inspections to include functional and aesthetic corrections beginning with a mock unit and lasting throughout the duration of the project
- Prepare comprehensive punch lists and distribute through Procore to subcontractors (attention: Site Foreman).
- Schedule subcontractors to complete punch work in accordance with the project schedule.
- Follow up consistently to ensure timely completion prior to the Owner walk.
- Verify completion of all punch items.
- Confirm all items are properly closed in Procore per company SOPs.
- Notify the Superintendent immediately of any issues that may impact schedule or turnover milestones.
- Coordinate blinds installation, final clean, and touch-up cleans.
- Ensure units are fully prepared for internal leadership walks (GS, PX, QSM).
- Input all leadership walk items into Procore and manage to completion
Owner Punch & Final Walk Process
- Walk each unit with the Owner Representative to generate the 1st Owner Punch list.
- Distribute Owner punch via Procore to subcontractors (cc: Site Foreman).
- Actively track and follow up on completion of Owner punch items.
- Inform Superintendent of progress and schedule Final Owner Walk.
- Be present for Final Owner Walk and help obtain written sign-off from Owner Representative.
- Save and archive all signed documentation for project records.
- Verify all punch items are completed and closed in Procore prior to turnover
Exterior Punch
- Conduct exterior building punch inspections.
- Input all items into Procore.
- Schedule and coordinate subcontractors to complete corrective work.
- Verify work completion. • Schedule Architect and CSPM walk to sign off on exteriors.
- Confirm all items are properly closed in Procore.
Scheduling & Trade Coordination
- Coordinate trade partners for punch work access.
- Work closely with Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent to maintain punch timing aligned with overall construction schedule.
- Ensure units remain production-ready and turnover-ready.
- Escalate concerns proactively to protect milestone dates
Additional Scope & Growth Responsibilities
This role is designed as a development pathway toward Assistant Superintendent.
- Assist with Final Inspections related to TCO/C of O.
- Support rough frame finals and building progression from frame final through turnover.
- Assist with production scheduling.
- Participate in quality control processes
- Support documentation efforts within Procore, including: Photos, Observations, Foreman meeting minutes, Safety inspections
Safety Responsibilities
- Support the Superintendent and Safety Manager in enforcing the site Safety Plan.
- Identify and report safety concerns immediately.
- Promote a culture of accountability and jobsite awareness.
- Be able to take and pass OSHA 30.
- Strong working knowledge of Procore (Punch, Observations, Photos, Documentation).
- Experience in multifamily construction or have a good basic knowledge of construction processes.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Clear communication with subcontractors and ownership teams.
- Schedule-driven with a proactive mindset.
- Committed to quality and accountability.
Compensation and Benefits for Construction Finish Superintendent:
Pay Range: $60,900 - $76,100
Compensation is determined by several factors that vary depending on the position, including the individual’s experience, skills, and the knowledge they bring to the specific role.
