Employment Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: Up to $34.00/hour (based on experience)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Fabrication Team Lead to support shop operations and guide a team of fitters and welders. This position plays a key role in meeting production targets, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.

What Youll Do
  • Partner with shop leadership to plan daily production activities and meet delivery timelines
  • Oversee and support fitters and welders on the floor, ensuring adherence to safety and quality expectations
  • Assign tasks strategically to optimize workflow and productivity
  • Provide hands-on assistance with fabrication challenges, including interpreting drawings and recommending techniques
  • Adjust team priorities as needed to accommodate schedule changes and production demands
  • Collaborate with maintenance personnel to keep equipment operating efficiently and minimize downtime
  • Promote a team environment through clear communication, feedback, and accountability
  • Work closely with quality control to ensure compliance with AISC standards
  • Support leadership functions such as interviewing candidates, onboarding, evaluations, and employee development
  • Assist with time tracking, disciplinary actions, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support shop operations
What Were Looking For
  • Strong background in structural steel fabrication, including welding, layout, and materials handling
  • Familiarity with CNC fabrication equipment and shop processes
  • Understanding of workplace safety practices, quality requirements, and cost control measures
  • Willingness to work overtime or weekends as production needs require
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work across departments
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Technical certification or associate degree in a related field is a plus
