HVAC Install Technician

STANS - AUSTIN, TX BRANCH

As a Lead HVAC Install Technician, you will work as part of a dynamic team filling a role that suits you best, whether consulting with customers, repairing, installing, or all of the above. You will diagnose and repair heating and cooling systems and lead customers to informed and confident buying decisions by providing an extraordinary customer experience.

The ideal candidate has the technical skills to install, troubleshoot, and diagnose all equipment, and is an effective problem solver and communicator. Ready to join our growing HVAC team? The position will be based in the field, with your very own company-provided take-home truck.

Schedule: Monday-Friday+ rotating weekends
Pay: Commission-based pay $80,000-$130,000

$1,500 minimum guaranteed weekly (90 Days ) no matter the call volume!

What You’ll Do:

  • Install, replace, and service heating, air conditioning, air quality, and refrigeration systems.
  • Connect electrical wiring and control systems according to diagrams and safety codes.
  • Join fuel, water, and refrigerant lines to HVAC systems and test for leaks.
  • Use electrical testing equipment to check circuits, calibrate components, and ensure safe operation.
  • Maintain clear communication with the Dispatch, Parts, and Installation teams, as well as your manager.
  • Keep your company vehicle clean, organized, and properly inventoried.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Enter completed projects and parts used into the database.
  • Educate customers on proper system use and maintenance.
  • Follow all company, industry, and safety standards at all times.
  • Participate in ongoing training to advance your skills and certifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


What We Are Looking For:

  • Valid driver’s license a MUST
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of HVAC installation experience + Universal EPA
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
  • Basic understanding of electrical wiring, connections, and system components.
  • Comfortable working in attics, crawl spaces, and tight environments.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Professional appearance, positive attitude, and team-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs, climb ladders, work in attics, crawl spaces, and other residential environments.
  • Experience using ServiceTitan or similar software a PLUS
  • NATE Certified a PLUS


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain communication with dispatch, your manager, and parts and installation teams.
  • Keep your company truck clean, inside and out.
  • Keep your truck inventory up to date.
  • Properly complete paperwork.
  • Have and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Participate in training allowing you to grow and develop as a professional.
  • Have or be willing to get the proper certifications. We can help you with this.
  • Replace heating, air conditioning, air quality, refrigeration, and control systems
  • Use electrical testing equipment to check electrical circuits and components
  • Test pipe or tubing joints and connections for leaks
  • Join pipes or tubing from the equipment to the fuel, water, or refrigerant source
  • Lay out and connect electrical wiring using hand tools according to the wiring diagram
  • Comply with all applicable standards, codes, policies, and safety procedures
  • Tell customers how to properly use their new HVAC equipment
  • Enter completed projects and the parts used into the database
  • Ensure safety best practices are followed in the field.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/ABILITIES:

  • Certification or associate’s degree from an HVAC program at a technical school and 2+ years as an HVAC installation technician (preferred but not required)
  • Basic understanding of electrical wiring and connections
  • Comfortable working in crawl spaces and attics
  • Excellent math, people, and problem-solving skills

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ year experience in sales, preferably HVAC or home services.
  • Clean Driving Record
  • Ability to Pass Pre-Employment Background Check and Physical/Drug Screen

PREFERRED:

  • Certification or associate’s degree from an HVAC program at a technical school and 2+ years as an HVAC installation technician (preferred but not required)
  • Experience in the trades: HVAC, plumbing, electrical
  • Experience with Service Titan
  • EPA Certified preferred
  • NATE Certified preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Professional Office Environment
  • Ability to travel to other locations, for training sessions and/or meetings, car/air travel 25-50%
  • Must be able to lift ~50lbs
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
