What You Will Do:
The System Control Operator co-op student supports the System Control Center through administrative assistance and technical updates. Responsible for updating and standardizing schematic drawings across the service territory and collaborating with the GIS department to maintain accurate system data. Contributes to efficient daily operations by supporting system documentation and coordination efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Update existing schematic drawings to harmonize across service territory.
- Assist in providing support for the System Control Center for everyday administrative work.
- Other duties as assigned and deemed necessary for efficiency purposes related to the System Control Center.
- Collaborate with our GIS department on updating our GIS platform.
What You Will Bring
- Enrollment in a College program for Electrical Engineering Technician / Technologist or a related program.
- Eligible for a co-op or internship term through your institution.
- Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and working knowledge of OMS, AutoCAD, GIS, CIS, and MS Access databases is considered an asset.
- Class ‘G’ license.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with multiple stakeholder groups and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Knowledge of Control Room systems (i.e., OMS, SCADA, AutoCAD, etc.) and operating procedures are considered an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work in a dynamic team environment and individually.
