Job Description: Job Summary
This position will work under the Controller to manage compliance with federal, state and local tax regulations across all areas of the College. In addition, this position will monitor and report on student loan receivables.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Prepare and post monthly entries to the ledger.
- Review general ledger postings for accuracy and completeness.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state and local tax regulations.
- Collaborate with departments across campus to confirm compliance.
- Review and assist with annual tax informational filings.
- Prepare schedules for 990 and IPEDS compliance.
- Prepare NCAA Annual Report.
- Assist in research and guidance with tax issues.
- Monitor and reconcile student loan receivables to the general ledger.
- Report on student loan receivables.
- Prepare miscellaneous reports or reconciliations as needed.
- Assist with internal audits as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Required Qualifications: Education and Experience
A bachelor’s degree in accounting plus five years of related office experience is required, or a combination of education and experience sufficient to demonstrate the ability to perform the job.
Other Skills:
- Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong working knowledge and experience with enterprise software programs or accounting tax/software. In addition working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Possess the ability to handle a wide variety of assignments simultaneously and prioritize properly.
- Honesty, integrity, discretion, sound judgment, and prudence are a requirement.
- Remain accessible and available at the College in time and presence to ensure the proper function of the department.
- Maintain an acceptable attendance record, be punctual, and meet deadlines.
