About the Role:

The Compliance Officer plays a critical role in ensuring that the organization adheres to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, particularly within the financial services sector. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining compliance programs that mitigate risk and promote ethical business practices. The Compliance Officer will conduct thorough risk assessments and due diligence to identify potential compliance vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions. They will serve as a key liaison between regulatory bodies and the company, ensuring timely and accurate reporting and response to regulatory requirements. Ultimately, this role safeguards the organization's reputation and operational integrity by fostering a culture of compliance and accountability.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in compliance within the financial services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, federal regulations, and compliance monitoring techniques.
  • Proven experience conducting risk assessments and due diligence processes.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) or Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification.
  • Experience working with federal regulatory agencies such as FinCEN or the SEC.
  • Advanced degree in Law, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with international compliance standards and cross-border regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in compliance management software and data analytics tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and evaluate the organization's adherence to the Bank Secrecy Act and other relevant federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments to identify and address potential areas of non-compliance.
  • Develop, update, and implement compliance policies and procedures in alignment with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on compliance regulations and best practices.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external regulators to ensure timely reporting and resolution of compliance issues.
  • Perform due diligence reviews on new and existing clients to ensure compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) standards.
  • Prepare detailed reports on compliance activities, findings, and recommendations for senior management and regulatory agencies.
