Introduction

This position is a hybrid, field-based role requiring residency within the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill (Triangle) metro area. The role supports an assigned local territory with frequent in-person engagement.

The Business Development Associate is responsible for building and growing service-based relationships between Raleigh Radiology and referring physicians, clinical partners, and community stakeholders. This includes driving awareness of imaging services, supporting referral workflows and technology, and optimizing client engagement and patient access.

This position reports to the Executive Director of Strategic Growth and is part of the Growth team (Business Development & Marketing).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote existing and new medical imaging services through a variety of outreach methods, including in-person visits, cold calls, virtual meetings, presentations, and attendance at events and conferences.
  • Develop, grow, and manage relationships with physician practices, health systems, and community stakeholders using a multi-channel, consultative approach.
  • Design and execute territory-specific market development plans to prioritize high-value accounts and drive patient acquisition, revenue, and service line growth.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Intake, Operations, Clinical Leadership, and Marketing to identify growth opportunities and improve referral workflows and patient access.
  • Serve as a liaison between Marketing and operational teams by providing market feedback to enhance lead generation, referral conversion, and customer experience.
  • Provide training and ongoing support to referring offices on referral processes, preparation forms, technology platforms, and emergent procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and timely account activity within the CRM system to support reporting and pipeline management.
  • Actively pursue networking opportunities to expand relationships and generate new referral sources.
  • Communicate market insights, competitive intelligence, and business opportunities to leadership, and recommend improvements to referral processes and service delivery.
  • Achieve or exceed assigned territory growth goals, referral targets, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Collaborate effectively across teams, demonstrating professionalism, accountability, and a service-oriented mindset.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE

Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, healthcare, or related field required. Clinical background (e.g., radiology, nursing, or similar discipline) a plus.

Experience: 2–4 years of business development, marketing, or account management experience. B2B healthcare sales experience is a plus. Proven experience in referral development and relationship management. Experience supporting outpatient services or imaging strongly preferred. Demonstrated success in executing growth strategies and achieving performance targets. CRM experience a plus.

Certification: None required

Licensure: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required. Current auto insurance requirements. Must reside within the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill (Triangle) metro area
