We are looking for dependable and safety-focused "Part-Time" Utility Operators who want to work "Flexible Schedules" to support day-to-day operations in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for transporting raw materials, filling containers, and hand-packing products into cartons using proper tools and procedures. The ideal candidates will have experience operating industrial trucks such as forklifts and walk-behind powered equipment and must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area is essential to success in this role.
Essential Functions
- Transport raw materials into the facility using industrial truck (forklift) and manual material handling equipment
- Filling containers
- Open boxes and lift materials onto tables from the floor area weighing up to 50 pounds
- Hand pack product into cartons using appropriate tools
- Safely use walk behind powered industrial trucks
- Utilize best work practices and housekeeping to ensure a clean and safe work environment
Position Requirements
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment
- Ability to work with a platform scale
- Ability to perform simple math functions
- Ability to operate a pressure washer
- Ability to read and interpret instructions on various operating procedures
- Industrial truck (forklift) or equivalent manual material handling equipment experience
- Minimum of two (2) continuous years of recent work experience; manufacturing experience is preferred
- Must be able to attend orientation and training on 1st shift before transitioning to 2nd shift
- Proficient in English language with reading, writing and speaking
Qualifications
· Ability to pass a physical screen, respiratory screen, drug screen and background check if job offer is received and accepted
· Ability to use standard safety equipment and wear all required personal protective equipment (in extreme hot/cold environments)
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
· Ability to climb stairs and ladders
· High school diploma or equivalency required
