Overview

The Advance Planning candidate will be responsible for the development and maintenance of Virginia Class construction networks supporting a Project’s Integrated Master Schedule for potentially New construction or Post shake down availability. The candidate will assess individual project’s schedule performance reporting results to the Project Management Team. Regularly monitor project construction status and perform schedule changes necessary to maintain a valid and achievable network schedule. Produce network critical and controlling paths used for schedule risk assessment. This candidate will be involved with the development of manufacturing and assembly plans, Virginia Class Integrated Master Schedules and schedule-related aspects of Electric Boat’s Earned Value Management System. The Advance Planner is a vital team member of the Project execution team and will act as an auditor and implementer.

This is a full time on-site position Monday - Friday.



Responsibilities

  • Ability to access and maneuver throughout the shipyard and aboard submarines
  • Ability to regularly interact with various levels of personnel including Managers, General Foreman's & Directors


Qualifications

Required:

  • High school or GED Education
  • Minimum of 2 years of Planning experience or EB Trades (including STO) OR 4+ years of Military service

Preferred:

  • Associates or Bachelors Degree
  • Submarine Military experience
  • Trades experience working directly with submarines
  • Knowledge of Final Assembly and Test ship construction processes with an emphasis on nuclear design/function
  • Knowledge of submarines, including general knowledge of and submarine systems (purpose and operations)
  • Possess experience and knowledge of the requirements for successfully integrating Test and Ship’s Force requirements into ships’ schedules is highly desirable
  • Knowledge and experience with the Virginia Class Integrated Management and Control System, Virginia Class Integrated Master Schedule and Earned Value Management System
  • An understanding of Project Management Software
  • Use of Planning Software, predominantly ARTEMIS / EWP
  • Experience in delivering formal or informal training and mentoring
