DME Coordinator at Powers Health – Munster, Indiana

Under the direction of the case manager and/or social worker, the DME Referral Coordinator is responsible for processing referrals and orders within the organization. This process consists of verifying patient and order information, insurance coverage and authorizations, and placing orders as needed. Additionally, the DME Referral Coordinator will conduct patient assessment for DME devises including oxygen needs, assist with wound vac process, and work with the respiratory companies to maintain an O2 closest to facilitate discharges.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor Degree or in process within 1 year.
• Some management experience preferred
• DME experience required
• Ability to read, write and spell.
• Work experience in a hospital, clinic, or physician office preferred
• Fundamental understanding of medical terminology and computer
