Geriatric Nursing Assistant- Certified Medicine Aide Position Summary

The GNA/Cert Med Aide works under the direction of the Restorative Nurse and will provide assistance in the delivery of rehabilitative care, monitor the quality of care provided, and provide direct routine patient care as needed. They will also drive the van as needed to transport residents to and from Doctor’s appointments. The inventory, distribution/delivery of medications may be required.

Geriatric Nursing Assistant- Certified Medicine Aide Position Requirements

• Maryland Geriatric Nursing Assistant licensure that has been issued by the Maryland Board of Nursing.
• Medicine Aide license that has been issued by the Maryland Board of Nursing
• Experience as a GNA and Certified Medicine Aide is preferred.
• American Heart Association BLS(Basic Life Support) CPR required
• Basic computer skills required
  1. Knowledge of how to switch on the computer
  2. Ability to use a mouse to interact with elements on the screen
  3. Ability to use the computer keyboard
  4. Ability to shut down the computer after use

Geriatric Nursing Assistant- Certified Medicine Aide Work Schedule

• Monday – Friday, possible Day, Evening or Night shifts.
• Weekends required per unit need.
• Holidays per departmental policy.
