NextStar Energy (NSE) is a joint venture between LG Energy Solution and Stellantis. NextStar Energy will be Canada's first large-scale lithium-ion battery production plant that has begun production at the site on over 200-acres of land on Twin Oaks Drive near Banwell Road.

The manufacturing facility is targeted to have an annual production capacity in excess of 49 gigawatt hours and will create an estimated 2,500 new jobs in Windsor and the surrounding areas.


We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Procurement Specialist to support our expanding operations in equipment and construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end procurement processes, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while maintaining compliance with company policies and industry standards.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee procurement activities for construction projects and battery manufacturing operations.
• Collaborate closely with Construction, Engineering/Technical, Accounting, and Finance teams to define procurement requirements and align with project timelines.
• Source and purchase materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Negotiate prices and contracts with vendors and suppliers.
• Ensure timely delivery and cost-effective procurement decisions.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and reports.
• Prepare procurement reports and update the Procurement Manager on progress, challenges, and achievements.
• Assist the Procurement Manager in the development of procurement strategies and goals.

Minimum Requirements:
• College Diploma or higher qualification.
• Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving skills with attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite; experience with ERP and/or SAP software is an asset.

Preferred Requirements:
• Previous experience working in a battery manufacturing facility and/or construction sites is preferred (1-2 years).
• Previous direct or indirect experience in the procurement process.
• Knowledge of vendor management, contract, and sourcing best practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
