About This Position
Scheduler Registrar - Precertification Specialist
What you need to know about this position:
- This position works within an outpatient Medical and Radiation Oncology assessment, diagnosis and treatment center for cancer and diseases of the blood.
- Works within the hospital to provide detection, treatment and care services in a community cancer center all under one roof.
- Responsible for scheduling and registration of patients presenting to the department.
- Responsible for collecting insurance data and/or making contact with payers for prior authorization to ensure proper payment of accounts.
- Performs business functions essential to the department, including, but not limited to, reception, admitting process, record management, charge entry and/or other responsibilities essential to the smooth operations of the department.
- Scheduler Registrar – Precertification Specialists have a base hourly rate of $17.61. Individual compensation is determined for this position through years of directly relevant experience. The hourly compensation is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
- The shift for this position would be 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday.
What is required for this position:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent is required
- Associates Degree in Business is preferred
- Previous experience with the precertification process for cancer detection and treatment procedures
- Flexibility in performing other duties such as reception desk, giving directions, escorting patients and visitors to other areas of the hospital
- Proficient at using the AIDET customer satisfaction tool
- Compassion and empathy for patients with chronic and terminal illnesses
