Job Summary

Aurex is seeking a Purchasing and Supply Chain Specialist to manage procurement for our aerospace and defense manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for proactively ensuring the supply management of materials, vendor quality, and inventory control. You will report to the Plant Manager and work in close collaboration with our Operations Specialist, as well as the estimating, finance, quality, and IT departments to provide timely and effective procurement in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Procurement Execution: Support company demand by procuring goods, materials, equipment, and other relevant needs; manage purchasing requisitions and resolve issues with suppliers.

  • Production Support: Proactively address and resolve procurement delays to minimize impact on assembly operations; flow critical information to all relevant parties to ensure on-time delivery.

  • Vendor Management: Identify and manage new vendor relationships for reliability and cost efficiency; perform regular vendor performance assessments regarding quality and on-time delivery.

  • Inventory & Planning: Work cross-functionally to monitor inventory levels, perform demand planning, and identify long-lead purchasing needs.

  • Compliance & Quality: Maintain accurate records of all transactions in compliance with QMS procedures; ensure all Quality processes are applied to continuously improve procurement.

  • Systems Management: Review and execute updates to vendor and internal communications within the ERP system, including purchase order changes and transactions.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3+ years in supply chain, purchasing, or a related background (Aerospace experience strongly preferred).

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; working knowledge of ERP and QMS systems (experience with ECI/JobBOSS and SimpleTrak is a major plus).

  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to navigate cross-departmental needs.

  • Attributes: Demonstrated self-starter with strong deductive reasoning skills; results-driven with a focus on continuous improvement.

Preferred Requirements

  • Prior experience within an Aerospace Manufacturing environment.

  • Working knowledge of AS9100 requirements and Lean manufacturing principles.

  • Experience with Government & Defense contracts.

The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $100,00 annually.
