The Spirit of the Position:

The Valet Department Supervisor / Manager on Duty is a combination role, with some shifts focused directly on the Valet Department and others on the Parking Operation as a whole, with many overlapping tasks. Manager on Duty is responsible for managing day-to-day operations of parking and ground transportation services, prioritizing positive customer experiences and adherence to airport standards. Responsibilities include coordinating staffing, overseeing site staff, and conducting disciplinary actions as needed. Additionally, the role involves liaising with departments, monitoring personnel compliance, and collaborating on equipment servicing and repairs.

Principal Job Duties:

  • Provide positive customer service experiences for all customers and clients.
  • Run/oversee day-to-day operations for parking and ground transportation services.
  • Ensure location is operated and maintained to Airport standards.
  • Collaborate with parking refunds and team for follow ups and investigations.
  • Provide information to customers on long-term parking options.
  • Correspondence and communication with all company departments as needed.
  • Reporting and requesting equipment servicing/repairs as needed.
  • Coordination of staffing for attended site based on regular manpower requirements and site activity.
  • Staff disciplinary action when required, including issuing of written warnings. Subsequent monitoring and follow up action, and participation in grievance/dismissal proceedings.
  • Monitoring of personnel to ensure compliance with company uniform and service standards.
  • Liaison with contractors, maintenance department, equipment suppliers, etc.
  • Provide support to the Valet Department Head with duties such as, but not limited to: Creating training manuals, performing valet recertifications, writing SOPs, Coaching and training Valets, helping to ensure the Department is running efficiently.
  • Any other tasks as requested by the Valet Department Head or Operations Manager.

Requirements:

  • Valid Drivers License with passenger endorsement if applicable.
  • Prior Valet experience is preferred, with a focus on Hotel style valet services.
  • Experience in managing parking and ground transportation services, with a strong focus on providing positive customer experiences is an asset.
  • Demonstrate effective leadership skills, including the ability to coordinate staffing, manage site staff, and handle disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to liaise with various departments, contractors, and equipment suppliers, as well as ensuring compliance with company standards and airport regulations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to physically push/pull/lift to 22.67 kg
  • Ability to bend at the knees or squat frequently throughout a shift
  • Willingness to work in inclement weather (rain, sleet, snow, heat, high wind, etc.)
