Under the direction of an assigned administrator, perform a variety of complex, responsible clerical assistance to administrators, counselors, students and parents involving frequent public contact; input a variety of class registration, class change and placement test data into a computer terminal. Provide record keeping duties related to enrollment, transfers, and maintain student records.
Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and three years increasingly responsible clerical experience involving public contact, including at least one year maintaining records in an automated office environment.
Assist parents and students with registration, class enrollment and class changes; review completed forms for accuracy, completeness and conformity with established policies, codes and other guidelines; assist in orienting and informing parents and students concerning bus routes, lunch arrangements, clubs, programs and school activities; establish and maintain cumulative records. Answer phones and take messages or receive needed information; provide information and assistance to students, teachers, parents and others regarding assigned office or program; explain established policies and procedures. E

Perform various clerical and statistical record-keeping duties relating to the enrollment, transfer or withdrawal of junior high school students according to established policies and procedures; enter information and data into computer, or provide statistical and record keeping duties for a high school registrar. E

Prepare and maintain permanent records and cumulative folders, transcript files and demographic information on enrolled and incoming students; request necessary records and initiate telephone and written communication relative to student records. E

Request transcripts and cumulative records from other school districts as needed for enrolling students; locate students who have transferred into or out of the District to update and complete documentation; exchange a variety of information with other districts. Provide for other junior high and high school registrar duties as requested. E

Provide accurate reporting for daily period-by-period attendance of students; post absences in the computer terminal from notes and phone logs; process and verify student absence information from teachers and parents; verify excess for student's absence from class; issue re-admit slips and off-campus passes. E

Contact parents or guardian to determine and verify excuses and unexcused absences. E

Enter or scan attendance data into computer and code for appropriate reason for absence; verify accuracy of data and modify as appropriate. E

Perform a variety of responsible clerical assistance to administrators, counselors, students and parents involving frequent public contact. E

Provide for other attendance related duties as appropriate.

Perform a variety of responsible clerical tasks, including preparing school site payroll transmittals for classified and certificated personnel, absence records and locker assignments; prepare and type correspondence, applications, work orders, purchase requisitions and other documents.

Communicate with a variety of District personnel, parents and outside organizations to exchange information, resolve issues, answer questions and coordinate activities.

Assist with contacting parents and guardians regarding ill or injured students; and dispense medications as certified according to established procedures; render first aid or cardiopulmonary resuscitation as needed.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Operate a variety of office machines including a computer terminal, typewriter and duplicating machines.

Maintain a variety of records and files.
Communicate effectively with students, staff, parents and the general public.
Read, interpret, and follow rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Perform clerical duties such as filing, duplications, typing and maintaining records with speed and accuracy.
Work effectively with constant interruptions.
Work confidentially with discretion.
Make arithmetic calculations quickly and accurately.
