We are seeking a Food Service Assistant Manager to support the daily operations of our Nutrition and Cafeteria services. This role partners closely with the Food Service Manager to ensure individuals served receive safe, nutritious meals in a clean, compliant, and well-organized environment. If you bring leadership experience in food service, a strong commitment to safety and quality, and enjoy developing teams, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

What You’ll Do

  • Support the implementation of food service operations, systems, and policies to meet organizational, client, and licensing requirements.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating food service department operations to ensure consistent, high-quality meal service.
  • Oversee staff training and onboarding, ensuring all team members understand policies, procedures, and performance expectations.
  • Ensure safety and compliance training is completed for all new hires and maintained on an ongoing basis.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant food service environment in accordance with local health department and accreditation standards.
  • Support daily food service functions, including meal preparation, service, and special programs.
  • Assist with coordinating maintenance and repair needs for kitchen facilities and equipment.
  • Monitor food safety practices, sanitation standards, and quality control to ensure meals meet nutritional and safety expectations.
  • What We’re Looking For

    Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Experience

  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience in food service production within a hospital, military, commercial, or institutional setting OR
  • Three (3) years of experience in a large institutional or commercial kitchen with progressively increased responsibilities (required).
  • Licenses / Certifications

  • CDM Registration eligible and ServSafe Certification (required).
  • Registered Dietitian (preferred).
