About This Position

Imaging Supervisor - Paintsville

  • JOB SUMMARY
    • Supervisor provides leadership and direction of the staff, operating within established budgetary allowances. The supervisor communicates with the Practice Manager and Directory of Imaging Services for progress and potential problems and maintains accurate and timely records.
  • DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    • Supervises team members in their respective areas.
    • Overall performance of below indicated essential job duties:
    • Is responsible for coordination and evaluation of these units.
    • Maintain and control staffing levels in Diagnostic Radiology, CT, Cardiac Imaging, and Ultrasound.
    • Attends all mandatory training programs.
    • Provides for methods of recruitment, retention for staff.
    • Oversees the general operations of Diagnostic Radiology’s, CT, Ultrasound and Cardiac Imaging daily practice assuring prudent delegation of duties and responsibilities.
    • Reports on department progress, budget variances, productivity, objectives and operational issues.
    • Works effectively with Kentucky clinics to maintain quality assurance guidelines in conjunction with UK King’s Daughters and their established guidelines.
  • EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/OTHER REQUIREMENTS
    • Minimum requirement:
      • Certified in Radiology or other Imaging Modality Discipline.
      • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as Technologist.
      • Maintains active certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or other Imaging Discipline.
    • Preferred qualifications:
  • WORKING ENVIRONMENT
    • Constantly works near moving mechanical parts
    • Constantly exposed to blood and/or body fluids and infection.
    • Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals
    • Occasionally exposed to risk of radiation
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    • Occasionally required to maintain in a stationary position (standing or sitting).
    • Frequently required to walk and move about.
    • Frequently required to operate a computer and other equipment.
    • Frequently required to use fine motor skills to handle and operate instruments/devices.
    • Constantly required to lift and/or move items up to 10 pounds.
    • Frequently required to lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
    • Occasionally required to lift and/or move items up to 100 pounds.
    • Constantly required to communicate with patients and other care team requiring talking and hearing.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
    • Occasionally required to position self in order to meet patient needs.
