JOB SUMMARY

Pero Transport is seeking a Fleet Recruiter Coordinator to support driver recruitment efforts while assisting with the coordination of driver qualification and onboarding documentation. This role plays an important part in maintaining a strong pipeline of qualified CDL drivers while ensuring the proper intake and organization of required compliance documentation. Working closely with the Director of Fleet Recruitment and Driver Development, this position helps ensure driver recruiting and onboarding processes align with regulatory requirements and company standards. The role bridges recruiting and compliance by supporting candidate sourcing, driver intake documentation, and coordination of onboarding activities. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working within both recruiting and regulatory-focused processes within a fast-paced transportation environment.

Requirements:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Driver Recruitment & Candidate Pipeline

  • Support driver recruiting initiatives to help meet fleet staffing goals.
  • Source driver candidates through job boards, CDL schools, referrals, and industry partnerships.
  • Conduct initial candidate outreach and screening to review experience, equipment familiarity, and route compatibility.
  • Maintain an organized pipeline of potential driver candidates for current and future openings.
  • Track recruiting activity and assist with reporting on hiring metrics such as time-to-fill and candidate conversion.

Driver Qualification Intake & Compliance Coordination

  • Initiate driver qualification files and assist with collecting required onboarding documentation.
  • Collect and organize driver documents including CDL licenses, medical certificates, employment history, driver applications and ensure all DQ files are completed.
  • Coordinate with the Compliance team to submit completed driver intake packets for regulatory review.
  • Maintain organized records of driver qualification documentation and recruiting activity.
  • Assist in ensuring documentation meets company standards and regulatory requirements.

Driver Onboarding Support

  • Coordinate scheduling of driver orientation and onboarding activities once compliance approval is received.
  • Support communication with new drivers during the onboarding process.
  • Ensure a smooth and professional transition from job offer to driver orientation.
  • Assist in maintaining onboarding documentation and records.

Driver Engagement & Administrative Support

  • Support driver engagement initiatives and assist with early tenure driver communication.
  • Help coordinate driver communication related to onboarding and employment documentation.
  • Provide administrative support to recruiting and compliance processes as needed.

Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Compliance team to support driver qualification documentation and regulatory processes.
  • Partner with Operations and HR teams to support driver onboarding and workforce planning.
  • Maintain accurate recruiting and onboarding records and support internal reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 years of experience in recruiting, transportation, fleet operations, or administrative coordination.
  • Understanding of CDL driver hiring requirements or DOT regulations preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple candidates and onboarding processes simultaneously.
  • Experience using recruiting platforms, job boards, or applicant tracking systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting driver recruiting or working within a trucking or logistics environment.
  • Familiarity with driver qualification documentation or compliance processes.
  • Experience coordinating onboarding or employment documentation.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This position operates in a professional office environment at the company’s Delray Beach, FL headquarters.
  • The role is primarily administrative and requires extensive use of a computer, phone, and office equipment such as printers and scanners.
  • Work involves regular interaction with driver candidates, internal departments, and external partners through phone calls, email, and in-person communication.
  • The position may require occasional extended hours during peak recruiting periods or to support onboarding deadlines.
  • The work environment is fast-paced and deadline-driven, requiring the ability to manage multiple recruiting and compliance tasks simultaneously.
  • Minimal travel may be required for recruiting events, driver orientations, or industry networking opportunities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting while working at a computer and conducting phone or video interviews.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, data entry, and handling documents.
  • Ability to speak clearly and hear effectively during phone and in-person communications.
  • Occasional standing, walking, or moving throughout the office to coordinate onboarding documentation and meetings.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move files, office supplies, or onboarding materials up to approximately 15 pounds.
  • Visual ability to read computer screens, forms, and compliance documentation with attention to detail.
