Driftway Animal Hospital is a full service, privately owned, small animal hospital that provides quality care to the pets of Scituate and surrounding towns. We offer traditional medicine, vaccines and preventatives as well as holistic options. We have digital radiology, perform soft tissue surgeries and dental procedures. Our team is dedicated and hard working. The common goal is to improve the lives our patients and educate our clients to the best of our abilities. We are looking for a friendly and organized veterinary receptionist to join our animal care team. Candidates must have a positive attitude but more importantly, be able to express compassion and empathy, especially in cases of euthanasia. In this administrative role, you check-in our animal patients, update their records and owner information, schedule appointments, process payments, and communicate with clients via phone, email, and text. You may also be asked to prepare prescriptions, relay after-care instructions to owners, and educate owners about nutrition, pet insurance and financial payment options. Candidates pursuing a career in veterinary medicine or have prior experience are preferred but we will train the right candidate. Excellent customer service and computer skills are required.

Position Requirements: Check-in patients. Gather and certify pet and owner information. Maintain records. Schedule appointments. Process payments. Educate clients about pet insurance, third party financing, rebates, etc. Prepare prescriptions and explain instructions. Perform other administrative tasks as needed.
