Second Shift Mechanic in Wrightsville, Pennsylvania at Donsco Inc

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
1. Troubleshoots and repairs advanced mechanical issues on most equipment in a timely and efficient manner.
2. Demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot and repair basic electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic issues on most equipment within the plant.
3. Performs routine preventative maintenance independently on most plant equipment and includes basic electrical and hydraulic systems.
4. Makes process/equipment improvement recommendations to Maintenance Manager.
5. Responds to on-call emergencies.
6. Communicate critical issues to Group Lead and/or Maintenance Manager in a timely manner.
7. Orders parts as needed and maintains spare parts inventory.
8. Trains Level I Mechanical Maintenance Technicians in proper preventative maintenance and repair techniques.
9. Completes required maintenance documentation in a timely manner which includes work orders, timesheets and parts requests.
10. Trains machine operators on daily maintenance procedures.
11. Utilize basic fabrication and welding skills to repair or make parts for equipment.
12. Performs general plant, building and grounds maintenance as required.
13. Adheres to 6s and safety procedures.
14. Other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS (BACKGROUND/SKILL/TRAINING):
1. High school diploma or GED is required; advanced technical training in related field is preferred.
2. Demonstrates above average mechanical and industrial electrical skills.
3. Reads and understands electrical and hydraulic schematics.
4. Demonstrates basic understanding of water systems, electronic controls and pneumatics.
5. Experience using diagnostic tools and electrical testing equipment.
6. Possess basic knowledge of circuitry, AC/DC voltage and ladder logic.
7. Operates power tools and hand tools as needed, proficiency at rigging.
8. Demonstrates basic knowledge of welding equipment and materials and is able to do basic welding as required.
9. On-call availability.
10. Demonstrates general mathematical skills.
11. Detail oriented and ability to multitask.
12. Read and understand work orders and equipment manuals.
13. Possess good communication and interpersonal skills; Able to work independently or as a team.
14. Reads and understands English.
15. Able to lift, push or pull up to 50lbs routinely; Up to 75lbs occasionally.
16. Able to work over-time as required by production.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
The work is primarily performed in a non-temperature controlled; smoke-free manufacturing environment. Noise level is moderate to loud. The individual is exposed to extremes in temperature on a regular basis. Employee is required to wear designated PPE at all times while in the plant. Work may be performed near equipment with moving parts or require use of some chemicals and resigns.
