The Sr. Supply Chain Manager Planning will be responsible for leading the planning and procurement departments ensuring the timely flow of orders of the plant. They will organize and control the materials department activities including sourcing, production planning, and inventory control functions ensuring to meet scheduled shipping dates that align with our distribution network.
How You Will Help:
- Manage and oversee the planning, scheduling, and coordinating of production to ensure the most efficient and cost effective movement of materials throughout the plant.
- Lead planning process for the plant and ensures cross-functional consensus is reached on operation demand plans and inventory plans required to support customer service, and revenue objectives.
- Work within and manage the MRP system to ensure that Bill of Materials, Routings, Forecasts, Item Costs and MRP parameters are maintained.
- Monitor the status of orders throughout the plant and develop reports to other managers as requested. Take necessary actions to ensure orders remain on schedule and meet service level requirements.
- Coordinate with the Central Planning team to determine actions needed to attain service level targets and working capital targets.
- Determine how much to invest in inventory, establish desired inventory level(s) and monitors to assure compliance.
- Develop and build supplier relationships and oversees/benchmarks the Supply Chain Management process. Team with the Global Sourcing group on MCTO initiatives.
- Manage issuance of purchase orders and invoicing, monitoring and preparing reports or budget adherence.
- Organize and manage the annual physical inventory or alternatively, oversee the ongoing cycle counting process, as directed.
- Utilize the sales, forecast, and order input data to determine actions needed to attain the overall turns and working capital targets.
- Incorporate all of the above essential functions through a focus towards continuous improvement.
What You Will Have:
- Bachelor's Degree with focus that complements job position.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in materials and production planning functions in manufacturing operations.
- Skilled in leading and participating in continuous improvement initiatives, TPS or similar.
- Must possess strong analytical and communication skills.
- Must demonstrate strong problem-solving skills with the ability to plan and accomplish short-term and long-term goals.
- Comprehensive experience in current ERP systems, specifically M3, for inventory control, scheduling, and forecasting are required. Experience in logility supply chain software a plus.
- Must be customer oriented and have the ability to work as a team player with others inside and outside the organization to maximize the focus on customer requirements.
