Nursing Assistant II at Southeastern Health – Lumberton, North Carolina

POSITION SUMMARY:

· Provides personal care and basic care to patients assigned to Emergency Services, under the direct supervision of a RN.

· On an as needed basis receives and direct all visitors, patients and incoming calls.

EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Required:

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Completion of a Nursing Assistant I and Nursing Assistant II course approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.

· Current listing with the NC Department of Health and Human Services as a Nursing Assistant I and current listing with the North Carolina Board of Nursing.

· BLS certification required; recertification required per American Heart Association guidelines.

Preferred:

· Two years of experience in a healthcare facility.

ADDITIONAL SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

· Incumbent must demonstrate an ability to apply age-appropriate principles of communication and clinical practice relevant to the age group(s) of patients assigned to the unit.

· Incumbent must demonstrate competence in the use of equipment and application of procedures before being allowed to perform independently.
