Job Title: Senior HR Generalist

Program: Human Recourses

Location: 1500 West Route 88, Brick New Jersey

Job Description/Summary

The Senior HR Generalist is responsible for a broad range of HR responsibilities related to the areas of Employee Relations, Performance Management, Compliance, Offboarding, and other administrative tasks and responsibilities. This role will assist the HR Director with the day-to-day operations of the department and carry out special projects as needed.

Responsibilities

• Responds to routine questions from employees related to policies, procedures, or the employee handbook; assists the HR Director with employee concerns, complaints or requests for accommodation in the workplace as needed.

• Consults with managers regarding employee job performance concerns and provides guidance to managers on matters related to employee issues and/or conflicts in the workplace as needed.

• Reviews disciplinary actions and assists managers with documentation as necessary in order to ensure consistency, fairness and compliance with PBHG policy and employment law.

• Participates in investigations related to misconduct and/or claims of harassment and/or discrimination in the workplace.

• Coordinates the exit interview process by corresponding with employees during their notice period and obtaining exit interview questionnaires prior to termination; provides a summary of findings to the HR Director on a quarterly basis.

• Generates separation letters for terminated employees, attaching instructions for claiming unemployment benefits; manages the unemployment claims process and participates in unemployment hearings when requested.

• Processes Employee Status Changes on a bi-weekly basis, including terminations, transfers, and other changes as applicable; ensures employee transfers meet any mandatory requirements that are needed in their new positions.

• Ensures that introductory reviews for New Hires are completed on a timely basis by monitoring the performance dashboard in ADP Workforce Now and notifying managers if necessary.

• Supports the recruitment and selection process as needed.

• Compiles reporting data for the annual EEO-1 Report utilizing ADP Workforce Now and files the report in a timely manner.

• Completes the BLS Quarterly Multiple Worksite Report on a quarterly basis.

• Utilizes the HRIS for record-keeping and reporting purposes, generating standard and ad hoc reports as needed.

• Assists with financial, regulatory and other HR audits by reviewing personnel files for completeness, providing documentation as requested by the auditors, and running reports in ADP Workforce Now.

• Ensures compliance with state and federal employment laws and regulations, employee records management and retention requirements as well as the security of all employee documents.

• Assists the HR Director with departmental projects as requested.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field from an accredited college or university.

Licensure/Certification: PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.

Experience: Five or more years of experience in Human Resources, including a background in Employee Relations, Performance Management and Benefits Administration functions; experience in a non-profit environment preferred.

Competencies:

• Effective communication skills, both oral and written, are necessary.

• Excellent interpersonal, counseling, and negotiation skills required.

• Excellent decision-making and critical thinking skills required.

• Knowledge of employment law, including Equal Employment Opportunity and affirmative action requirements necessary.

• Proficiency with MS Office Suite and ADP or similar HRIS platform needed.

• Demonstrates the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
