Surgical Assistant

The surgical assistant functions as an integral part of the perioperative team as the assistant to the surgeon. Also functions when required as the first or second Surgical Technician or second Circulator under the direct supervision of the RN. An associate''s degree and graduation from an approved Surgical Technologist program or LPN program is required. Must be currently cardiopulmonary resuscitation certified per the American Heart Association. Two years of Operating Room scrubbing experience in at least five major services required.
