JOB SUMMARY
- The Emergency Response Nurse (ERN) provides concurrent review of Emergency Department and admitted patients to identify at risk patients for Sepsis, Stroke, and performs as the lead nurse in emergency response Code Calls (RRT, & Code Blues). The ERN provides support to the patient care team to ensure timely identification and appropriate patient care response for Sepsis, Stroke, Code situations, and identification and elimination of barriers related to patient care. The ERN will round on high risk patients for timely identification of deterioration for intervention and provides guidance on clinical results to ensure appropriate de-escalation of care. The ERN will assist with patient and family education, Mock Codes, and provide a comprehensive coordination of care.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas:
-
Education/Regulatory Requirements:
- RN licensed in State of MS.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or equivalent is preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate.
- ACLS and PALS certifications within six months of hire.
- Three years’ work experience in Critical Care or Emergency Department preferred.

Skills:
- Moderate to advanced computer and data entry skills.
- Skills and knowledge to sustain and evaluate competence in the care of the age and type of patient populations served.
