Job Description
Job Summary:
Performs phlebotomy on all age groups, accurately uses the Laboratory Information System to register patients and process lab specimens, processes reference lab testing accurately and in a timely manner, and processes patient information at the request of laboratory customers.
Oversees the day-to-day operations of the designated laboratory location, including maintaining inventory and reporting problems/concerns to the Phlebotomy Team Leader. Assists with identifying process issues, finding solutions and implementing changes. Mentors assigned trainees.
Reports to: Laboratory Manager
Minimum Qualifications
At least two years of phlebotomy experience, graduation from a Phlebotomy school with successful completion of a clinical internship
Success Factors
• Able to obtain and process patient specimens with minimal difficulty or mistakes.
• Strong customer service experience.
• Previous experience with computers and Laboratory Information Systems and Electronic Medical Record Systems.
• Ability to complete both phlebotomy and registration.
