About This Position

Coordinate insulin pump program operations within the endocrinology clinic.

Conduct monthly meetings with insulin pump territory managers including Tandem, Twiist, Beta Bionics, and Medtronic; meet with Omnipod representatives every six months.

Maintain monthly meetings with Dexcom and Freestyle Libre representatives to review updates, product changes, and training opportunities.

Meet semi-annually with durable medical equipment suppliers including CCS Medical, Byram Healthcare, and Reliable Diabetes Care.

Manage and process all insulin pump and pump supply orders for existing insulin pump users.
-
Initiate and update insulin pump settings and provider-ordered changes as directed by the endocrinology team.

Provide insulin pump education for new pump candidates, including facilitation of a 90-minute diabetes technology education class.

Troubleshoot technical issues related to insulin pumps, including device upgrades, connectivity issues, and operational concerns.

Assist with CGM training and device setup for patients starting continuous glucose monitoring.

Maintain and manage CGM and insulin pump supplies within the clinic.

Provide staff education regarding technology updates, upgrades, and changes related to insulin pumps and CGMs.

Review insulin pump and CGM reports and communicate recommended adjustments to providers to improve glycemic outcomes and Time in Range (TIR).

Assist with training new staff on diabetes technology, including insulin pumps and CGMs.

Attend manufacturer training sessions and continuing education related to insulin pump and CGM technology.

Provide Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME) to patients with diabetes.

Deliver medical nutrition therapy (MNT) for patients with endocrine-related diagnoses.

Provide diabetes nutrition education in accordance with the 2026 ADA Standards of Care.

Educate patients on nutrition strategies for GLP-1 therapies, including weight management and metabolic health.

Interpret CGM and insulin pump reports to support patient education and glycemic management.

Meet quarterly with Abbott Territory Manager to maintain inventory of Glucerna and Ensure Max nutritional samples for patient distribution.

Develop new nutrition education materials and patient resources as needed.

Maintain and manage vendor educational pamphlets and materials used in the clinic, ensuring appropriateness and approval for clinical use.

Support clinic operations related to diabetes technology and nutrition education programming.
