Circle Seafoods is seeking a dedicated Field Engineer to join our construction team. The Field Engineer will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the construction activities at our site, ensuring that all operations are executed efficiently, safely, and within the specified timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
- Directly involved in daily construction activities.
- Ensure adherence to project plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Monitor progress and provide updates to the project manager.
Quality Control:
- Continually monitor site conditions to ensure quality standards are met.
- Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies in construction processes.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
Technical Support:
- Provide technical guidance and support to the construction team.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving engineering issues on-site.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Communication:
- Liaise between general construction workers and Senior Engineers
- Prepare and present reports on project progress and any challenges encountered.
- Facilitate effective communication among all stakeholders.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of construction activities, materials, and equipment usage.
- Ensure all documentation is up-to-date, including daily logs, inspection reports, and safety records.
- Assist in the preparation of project documentation for regulatory compliance.
Qualifications:
- 0-4 yrs relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Process Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience in analytical thinking and problem-solving, including roles in field engineering, construction management, or hands-on experience repairing/rebuilding in a workshop.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and safety protocols.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
Preferred:
- Experience in seafood processing facility construction or similar projects.
Working Conditions:
- This position requires working on-site at the Circle Seafoods construction site.
- Support and guidance provided by senior engineer Pat Glaab.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments.
- Willingness to travel and work in Alaska during the busy summer months.
- Flexibility to work extended hours, including weekends, as needed.
