Registered Nurse Stress Lab/Cardiac Rehab at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital – St. Johnsbury, Vermont

Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) is seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation and Cardiac Stress Lab team. As an RN in this specialized area, you will play a critical role in delivering safe, high‑quality patient care, conducting exercise stress testing, and supporting patients through cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation programs. This position offers the opportunity to work semi‑independently while collaborating closely with cardiologists, providers, and a multidisciplinary care team. You will support both inpatient and outpatient services, ensuring accurate monitoring, patient education, and adherence to national clinical guidelines for exercise testing and rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct stress tests and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation services, including exercise testing, MPI coordination, patient monitoring, referral management, and accurate documentation.
• Provide direct and indirect nursing care, serving as a patient advocate while delivering education, counseling, and support to promote healthy lifestyle changes.
• Operate and maintain cardiac and respiratory equipment, ensuring proper function, troubleshooting issues, and completing required competencies and inventory tasks.
• Administer medications safely, following hospital policies, demonstrating proficiency with cardiovascular drugs and IV access, and maintaining required certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing and a current Vermont or multistate RN license required.
• One year of acute care experience with knowledge of cardiovascular disease; critical care or cardiac step-down preferred.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association, and IV access proficiency.
• Strong assessment, communication, organization, and critical‑thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
