Job Title: Prospect Research Analyst

Summary of Position

The Prospect Research Analyst is chiefly responsible for conducting research on prospects, prospect related data entry and managing special projects as needed/

Major Responsibilities:

  • Utilize a variety of online resources to prepare thorough, accurate, and concisely written research profiles to include biographical and financial information, potential for philanthropic support, areas of interest and affiliations on individuals; as well as similarly complex research on corporations and foundations when needed.
  • Synthesize and analyze complex research with an emphasis on making connections and knowing your audience.
  • Helps execute development strategies to identify potential donors for ongoing fundraising efforts.
  • Monitor online sources for relevant and updated information on current and prospective donors.
  • Review weekly gift lists for prospective prospects.
  • Wealth screen and analyze patient/donor lists.
  • Maintain prospect data in RE NXT assisting AVP, Prospect Research with all data entry related to pertinent prospect information and the prospect management system.
  • Aides in educating colleagues on use of prospect management policies and procedures, and monitors for adherence to best practices.
  • Conduct work in a manner that is ethical and sensitive to the needs of donors and RWJBH foundation staff.
  • Performs other duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor s degree and at least three years professional experience in development research, preferably.
  • Knowledge of online resources such as WealthEngine and Lexis-Nexis preferred.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion and adhere to ethical and confidentiality guidelines of both the system and the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA).
  • Ability to clearly convey information orally and in writing.
  • Precise attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • General knowledge and competency of Microsoft Office programs, including the ability to manage and manipulate data in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Experience managing deadline-driven multiple and diverse tasks.
