SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Under the supervision of the Program Director/Administrator or Island Director, the Clinical Specialist I is responsible for the implementation of program services, linking the assessment, design, implementation and evaluation of therapeutic interventions with the purpose of achieving successful case outcome. Provision of on-call crisis response with 24/7 availability.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
- Masters' Degree from a school accredited by a recognized accrediting agency. Requires knowledge of an advanced type.
EXPERIENCE
- Over two years, up to and including four years.Other (Specify): Certified in Substance Abuse Counseling preferred. Two years of experience providing domestic violence services required.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Good verbal and written skill in therapeutic assessment and treatment, interviewing, recording and letter writing. Also able to assess family dynamics, strengths and weaknesses effectively. Ability to work with challenging families to improve their parenting skills. Support the commitment to preserving child connection with their family of origin and reunification with biological family.Required:Demonstrated ability in experience and education in relevant aspects of clinical practiceCommitment to empowering families to be an effective problem solving and nurturing agentsAbility to communicate and work effectively with people of diverse social, economic, ethnic/racial, and cultural backgrounds Experience working with at-risk families and the ability to establish effective working relationships with at-risk familiesCommitment to family centered, community based servicesCommitment to children’s safety and family stabilityGood verbal and written communication skills in therapeutic assessment, interviewing and recordingValid drivers licenseCurrent no-fault insurance Satisfactory and/or clear driver’s abstractAccess to an insured vehicleFlexible work schedule to promote accessibility to serviceProvides 24/7 on-call crisis response
OTHER POSITION REQUIREMENTS
