Overview

The Development Intern will support Shawmut’s IT team by assisting with software development initiatives that enhance internal tools, improve business processes, and support digital transformation efforts. This internship is a hands-on opportunity for a student interested in software engineering, application development, and technology-driven solutions within a dynamic construction management environment. Responsibilities

Assist in designing, developing, testing, and deploying internal applications and tools.

Support enhancements and maintenance for existing systems, including debugging and troubleshooting.

Work with IT team members to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving development best practices.

Document processes, technical specifications, and user guides as needed.

Collaborate with cross-functional partners to understand workflows and identify opportunities for improvement.

Help with data integration activities, reporting, and automation initiatives.

Qualifications

Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Foundational knowledge of programming languages such as Python, C#, JavaScript, or SQL.

Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.
